The Personal Child Health Record, also known as the PCHR or 'red book', is a national standard health and development record given to parents/carers at a child's birth. You will usually be given the red book before you leave the Maternity ward.

You will be offered regular health and development reviews for your baby until they are around 2 to support you and your baby. Please bring your red book with you to all further appointments (midwife, health visitor, GP etc) as it will be used to record height, weight, vaccinations, the newborn blood spot test amongst other important information.

Tip: pack it in the changing bag.
